Hey there.
My name is Shannon Unger, and I am a licensed professional counselor in Colorado and Arizona. I have a bachelors degree in Linguistics from the University of Colorado at Boulder as well as a masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary (2014). I am also a Licensed Addictions Counselor in the state of Colorado.

With over 10 years of experience as a counselor, I've had the priveledge of walking alongside people on their healing journeys throughout some of life's most difficult and transformative moments. My passion lies in helping individuals reconnect with their inner strength, release what no longer serves them, and step into the fullest version of who they are. I believe healing is not just about recovery- its about reclaiming your voice, changing the narrative, and creating a life that truly feels like your own.

I have lived all over the United States, but have called Colorado home for the last 20 years. In my free time I like to read, travel, and run races (very slowly). I am also often found taking my two dogs on adventures.

Meet Arya
Arya is my 6-year-old golden retriever and therapy dog. She brings a special kind of comfort and joy to the therapy space. With her gentle presence, endless affection for people, and deep love for belly rubs. Arya has a gift for helping individuals feel safe, grounded, and at ease. When she is not in the office offering tail wags and soulful eyes, she's usually playing with her best friend Gryff (my beloved australian shepherd), or greeting every human she meets like they're her favorite person in the world- which, to her, the probably are.
